Great podcast for tech history
01/09/2024
I have listened to almost all the episodes for this podcast. This has to be the best tech history podcast
I LOVE THIS PODCAST!
04/25/2023
I just finished the entire series and I bawled at the end of the final episode. This podcast has been near and dear to my heart as a technology enthusiast who loves coding, game development and cybersecurity. I’m going to miss it because Saron Yitbarek did such an amazing job as the host. My favorite season by far is season 6, but there’s something special throughout. Red Hat truly created something special here. Until next time, cheers to you Command Line Heroes!
Where storytelling meets programming

This podcast reminds me of Mr. Ballen’s “strange, dark, and mysterious” stories — but tech edition. It’s a very well done exploration of past tech “horror” situations — and what the protagonists did to identify, understand, contain, and vanquish them. Great stuff!
One of my favs

Great content, woke messaging and weird delivery
11/03/2022
Just as I was starting to get over the overly enthusiastic voice of the narrator and enjoy the podcast, they start with the woke liberal ideologies. Why put opinion based messages into otherwise solid educational content? This only divides people further and causes your numbers to go down.
Great content, annoying host

I so want to listen to every podcast from this show. But the host’s vocal delivery is so exaggerated and affected that it’s unlistenable. This is too bad, because when the host interviews people in a normal conversation, she shows that she does have a more normal way of talking in real life. Unfortunately the scripted parts of the show are delivered in an over-the-top sing-song manner.
Good podcast, horrible host

The stories about the history of computing are great but the host is annoying.
Host’s delivery is better targeted for pre-schoolers
10/06/2021
While the treatment of the history of computing gets a fair amount of depth with plenty of voices chiming in on the important waypoints along that fabulous tapestry. the host’s overall narration and delivery ruins the entire experience. She’s too sprightly and too upbeat, making the content feel less like an exposition of the facets of technical subjects and more like advertising—but not just advertising to people in tech, but advertising to children. The host would make a great pre-school teacher! But as a podcast host? Not so much. Could only stomach two episodes before I unsubscribed.
Narrator ruins it

Really though to listen to. Everything is rise and fall and rise and fall and feels totally read off script without understanding. Vocal fry is unbearable.
Was liking it until I got to the woke stuff

I wish podcasts like this one would create unity among all people and not just pander to a certain group for the sake of being woke. Instead, you are contributing to more division and hate.
