Unlocking Connection: The Power of Vulnerability and Feedback

As a leadership coach, one of the things I do a lot of coaching on is communication. Communication can be scary and intimidating. Maybe it’s something you think you should know how to do, but let me tell you, it’s a learnable skill.

In this episode, I share the story of one of my clients from a situation where she was brave and gave positive feedback to someone. Discover what makes you feel safe, and if it involves refraining from clear communication with others, you’ll learn how to cultivate the skillset of communication.

Sometimes, when you become so anxious about what’s going to happen, you may start to under-function, allowing the unknown to manage you instead of managing it. This week, I’m discussing moving into the unknown, whether it involves performances, events, or waiting for a diagnoses.

Tune in this week to learn how to become a compassionate observer in your life and embrace the vulnerability that comes with uncertainty. Are any of your expectations influenced by fear, shame, and magical thinking? These are called stealth expectations and they will go unnoticed until they resurface when challenges occur. It’s crucial to be aware of them and to know how to recognize if you have stealth expectations.

In this episode, I discuss the impact stealth expectations can have on you if you don’t pay attention to what’s going on inside yourself, and how to start creating self-awareness around the things that you expect.

You Don't Need a Re-do: Learning from the Present

You Don't Need a Re-do: Learning from the Present

How amazing would it be to go back in time and change the way you did things? Recently, during multiple sessions with clients, the topic of how wonderful it would be to be a freshman in college again came up. It made me think about the fantasy of going back in time with the knowledge that we have now and changing the way we did things then.

If you’re experiencing similar thoughts, tune in this week to discover how everything you've learned over the years is valuable, and how to use all this knowledge you have in the present to create the future you desire.

Slow down and focus

I listen to many podcasts at speed 1.5 at work as background noise, from parenting to leadership and organization. This is the only podcast that when it’s on I slow it down to normal speed and I focus on the podcast and every word that Koren speaks. She has insights that helps me as an overall person. I’ve taken part in some of her group sessions. Koren has such an expertise and her willingness to share with others is wonderful. I found her podcast being noisy and seeing what others were listening too. Being a guy I find that women really empower each other more than men. If I were to name her podcast, it would be- How do you show up. Cause it’s beneficial to men and women. Scott v Alaska

Hi Koren! I have been listening to your podcasts for about a year now and have to say how much I love them! You always bring me something new to think about or some way to do better in my daily life. I am encouraged by your humanness and what you share on yourself, as you continue to improve your life and the lives of others. I listen on my commute, walking through the park and traveling the globe. Please keep doing what you are doing because it makes a difference in my life!
