Islamic history podcast
Extremely informative and well balanced . I started 3 months ago and this has been source of information to understand Islamic history , things like Ottomans, the Mughals , Bosnia and Middle East ! Great job
Desperately needed
This might be long.
Every time I have had a child, my iman has suffered. I don’t know why, but I have had three children and each time it got worse. After the birth of my last baby in 2020 I stopped praying altogether and completely lost my connection with my chosen faith (I am 34 and converted at age 19).
In 2022 I found this podcast (specifically, the Prophet Muhammad podcast — this podcast’s season 1). I cannot overstate the impact it had on me. For the first time in 2.5 years I felt like I WANTED to be Muslim again. I started doing salah regularly again BECAUSE OF this podcast. I have been inspired to seek out more media talking about the Seerah and also the lives of the Prophet’s (saw) wives and family and companions.
Maintaining my connection to Islam is still a struggle, but I would not have made the progress I did without the work of Br Muttaqi Ismail (and of course the help of Allah swt). Thank you for all the work and love you put into this podcast. I pray that every time I make salah, you are rewarded for it.
Bizarre biased assumptions
I’ve followed this channel for a bit as I delve into learning the history of Islam. I saw the new Palestine episode and was cautiously optimistic while skimming the transcript this morning. Twice so far I’ve seen mentions of how if Israel stayed a single state and allowed Palestinians to be citizens, it would “destroy the idea of a Jewish state.”
Clearly you have never been nor interacted with the hundreds of thousands of Arab Israeli citizens, many of whom self-identify as Palestinians and are descendants of Palestinians.
Nobody is asking you to support Israel, but there’s no reason to make up lies. Israel is already the most to gain legitimate criticisms. There are many things up for debate but this is factually not one of them.
Very disappointing.
